Chuck Brown, USA

Chuck Brown is a current Champion level competitor with over 18 years of experience. He is recognized as a top international instructor, NASDE Circuit and US Open judge, DJ, event promoter and dance business consultant. Chuck has won numerous national competitions and awards, including placing at the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships several times and making the Champions Division J&J finals at SwingDiego.

Chuck is known for his musicality, creativity, versatility, and especially, his amazing lead on the dance floor. It has been said by many of the top pros, that Chuck is one of the best social dancers in all of West Coast Swing. His dance training includes West Coast Swing, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Blues, Carolina Shag, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Bachata, House, Country and African.

Chuck’s teaching methods have produced some of the fastest moving and successful competitors and dancers in the Unites States as well as Internationally. He has taught all over the globe, including Australia, Sweden, France, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Russia, New Zealand, Germany, the USA and many more. He is an incredibly passionate and tough teacher who cares deeply about his student’s dance goals as well as their friendship; it’s evident in his workshops and private lessons.

He is the owner and event director for the San Francisco Dance Sensation, The After Party, and Hawaii Dance Sensation. He also consults many other events such as the French Open, Bavarian Open, Rock the Barn, and the Asian WCS Open. He is currently based between Bend, Oregon and Singapore.

Stephen White and Sonya White, USA / Canada

Stephen White is a Swing Professional currently competing at the Champion level. Calling no one place home, he travels around the world instructing, choreographing, competing, and performing. The palest working man in the Swing world, he's known for a quirky wit, fun workshops, and an avid love of social dancing! Please make sure he avoids excess sunlight.

Sonya White hails from Montreal, Quebec, Canada (not to be confused with the rest of Canada, or France). With a background in teaching Salsa and Latin street dance for 7 years, she brings a unique flavor to her West Coast. Versed extensively in Modern, Hip hop, Jazz, Classical, Etc, she is also fluent in 5 different languages. That means she can teach you many dances, in many ways, in many tongues! She can even translate the "southern" that Stephen tends to speak.

Together they're traveling the world and the Swing circuit, showing there's no limit to the love of dance! 

Lee Easton and Fabienne Henshall, UK

Lee Easton, Event Director, has achieved multiple World Championships in UCWDC Line and Couples Dance, a Pro Am Top Teacher award for work with his international students. Lee travels the World teaching, coaching, judging and competing around the world and most recently the USA, where with his dance partner Fabienne Henshall, they were US Open Finalist’s. 

Lee is 2011 Scottish West Coast Swing Champion, 2010 US Open Classic Finalist in addition to having held titles in UK, San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston and Nashville.  

Fabienne Henshall holds numerous line dance world champion titles, most recently the 2008 UCWDC Female Superstars World Champion and also reached the 2010 US Open Swing Dance Classic Final. Currently Fab is competing in Swing, Country and Linedance and is 2011 Scottish West Coast Swing Champion and former Champion in Nashville (USA), Los Angeles (USA) & Paris (France).

Irina Puzanova, Russia

Dancing since she was 7. Was doing ballroom dancing (in her childhood), belly dance, jazz. Dances Hustle, Discofox, Salsa, Bachata, WCS, well, any social dance.

Her main definition – the best! Always and everywhere! She was the first in Saint-Petersburg to reach the A class in Discofox and then to become a judge of the highest category. Many times winner and Champion of Russia in Hustle Jack-n-Jill.

Began working on her West Coast Swing in 2010, learned from the best, started competing succesfully, and now she is the first and the only dancer in Russia to reach All Star skill level in WCS (according to WSDC). US Open 2012 winner, numerously won and placed in all kinds of WCS competitions. Winner of the four out af all six Europien All Star divisions.

Owns and manages her own Dance school in Saint-Petersburg. Recognised Discofox and West Coast Swing Instructor. Creator and event director of many dance events, e.g. first in Russia International Discofox competition – Nord Cup. Co-manages Swing&Snow in St. Petersburg.

Daric Lion and Anastasia Lokshina, Switzerland / Russia

Daric was born and grew up in Lausanne, Switzerland. He dances more than 20 years and used to dance Latin ballroom, salsa, bachata, Argentine tango, tap dance, jazz-funk and now he has two main passions: Discofox, West Coast Swing.

Nastia was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. Now she lives in Lausanne, Switzerland. She went through gymnastics classes, tries out ballroom dance but her only real passion was found when she was 20 years old: Hustle / Discofox and later West Coast Swing.

Their goal is to make the Discofox and WCS community grow with the “emotional” aspect strongly represented. Through the music, through the partner, and using technic as foundation… open to new concept, yes, but keeping the nature of the dance. Their teaching experience is of more than 10 years. To date, Daric and Anastasia are giving West Coast swing and Discofox workshops all around the world. They are also active social dancers, competitors and judges.

Brad Whelan, USA

Bradford Whelan has become recognized as one of the foremost dance photographers in the world. Known worldwide as the official photographer of West Coast Swing, he travels 40 weekends a year to competitions, weddings, and corporate events throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Brad is also known as one of the best competitive social dancers in the West Coast Swing community. He is the only competitor currently dancing in the Champions division who has NEVER performed a routine. Brad earned his way to the top division competing only in Jack and Jills and Strictlies. In three years as an All Star, he amassed more All Star competitive points worldwide than anyone in West Coast Swing…ever. In 2013 and 2014, Brad won more Jack and Jills and Strictlies than anyone in the world (over 40 wins), and also won the NASDE All Star Jack and Jill Tour.

His main area of focus in teaching is on competition, and competition mentality, where he teaches his workshop called “The Attitude of Winning,” a strategy session on improving competition results not just through better technique, but through better connection, awareness, and understanding of what makes winning possible.

NIQUAN: Nikita Uvarov (Samara, Russia)

NIQUAN has twelve years of experience teaching dance and is the founder and head of the dance school “Brooklyn” in Samara. He was the winner of the qualifying round of the Russian SDK Europe in 2014. During the Westie Fest, Nikita will hold hip-hop workshops. He is excited to teach the basic movements, musicality, and improvisation basics. This is his first time in Moscow!
